The Sheffield Woodturning club provides a place for those with an interest in this fascinating hobby to meet on a regular basis and share experiences, see professionals at work and learn from those with more experience and skill. You can see the type of things we make in our gallery pages and in our general collection.
We meet at the Wood Lane Countryside Centre, Stannington, on the second Thursday each month for a professional demo and then usually on the fourth Thursday for what we call our "Hands-on" evening - please see programme for full details.
The club is affiliated to the Northern Federation of Woodturning Groups and can offer you.
Monthly demos by a professional turner
Monthly club nights where anyone can 'have a go' on our club lathes
Discount on a range of woodturning products and materials
Elston Sawmill join us every couple of months with some great value timber
Full Day seminars
A great group of people who are keen to 'talk wood' and pass on ideas, tips and general advice to newcomers.
Oh, and we do a great line in tea & biscuits!
So, get out of your workshop and come along to a meeting - at no cost for the first one. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you enjoy yourself.
