What can you make from a 5x5x3 block of sycamore?
That was the challenge offered to our club members. Steve Wright from Elston Sawmill provided blanks which members were able to buy for £1.50p each. The wood was quite wet, mine was 45% on the moisture metre, so the choice was, turn to a finish immediately or do a bit and wait for it to dry.
The variety of finished products is amazing and all these will be sold to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Research Project CA105:- "Can early combination therapy eliminate bone metastases?" which is focused on bone metastasis which has developed from breast and prostate cancer.
