Full Day Demo

This year’s full day demo will see Andy Coates visiting us on Saturday 22nd June, 10.00 - 4.30. The charge is £15 for SWC members and £16 for visitors, with a tasty lunch and coffee breaks included. For tickets contact secretary@sheffieldwoodturningclub.org.uk.

Chosen Charity Donation

Each year Sheffield Woodturning Club designate a charity to donate any funds raised by club members, often by sales of woodturned items or equipment. This year we were particularly pleased to be able to donate a magnificent £4,568 to Weston Park Cancer Charity at the AGM with £3,568 of that realised from the sale of Mr Banfield's equipment. Hands on Evenings

Rick has asked the mentors to list three things they are best able to help with. You can then ask one of them to give advice or a demo on what interests you, so that they can be prepared at the next session. He hasn’t heard back from all of them yet, but this is what we have at the moment: Rick: 1. Beginners introduction to tool use and safety 2. Natural edge turning 3. Goblets Lesley 1. Pen Turning - wood and acrylic 2. Chatter Tool use 3. Thread Chasing Graham 1. Bowls 2. Multi-axis / off centre 3. Boxes / Hollowing. Steve 1. Natural Edge turning 2. Bowls 3. Burnt and gilt cream finishes Health & Safety Dust can seriously damage your health - see the link on our Links page to a White Paper on the dangers of dust inhalation
